General Workflow
Here’s the scoop on using Shape Pop – it’s a breeze, I promise!
Common Transition Controls
Many Shape Pop templates share common controls that do the same thing. The following are the most common controls.
Style
This drop down selects which clip animates. Select In to animate and reveal the incoming clip. Select Out to animate and hide the outgoing clip.
Direction
This drop down selects which direction you want the animation to move.
Spread
This slider controls the amount of falloff of the animation. To create a softer transition between each element, increase the Spread value. Style In/Out Spread sliders control the In/Out spread respectively.
Feather
This slider to soften the shape’s edge. Positive feathering values soften the edge of the shape from its edge outward. Negative feathering values soften the edge of a shape inward from the edge.
Change Pattern
This checkbox changes the pattern. Use this with Style In/Out Pattern to generate different patterns layouts.
Style In/Out Pattern
This button randomly generates a new Style In/Out pattern.
Number of Arms
This slider determines the number of arms the burst has.
Spin Direction & Rate
This slider allows you to change which way the animation rotates and how fast. To rotate to the left, slide to the left. To rotate to the right, slide to the right. The more you slide, the faster it rotates. For no rotation put the slider to 0.
Inner/Outer Color
This picks the inner/outer circle’s color.
Circle Size
This slider determine the circle size. Slide left for smaller sizes or slide right for bigger circles. As the size changes the number of circles change as well.
Change Pattern
This checkbox changes the pattern. Use this with Pattern to generate different patterns layouts.
Pattern
This button randomly generates a new Style In pattern.
In/Out Spread
These sliders controls the amount of falloff of the animations. To create a softer transition between each element, increase the Spread value. In Spread controls the first animation and Out Spread controls the second animation.
Color Style
This picks the circle’s color style. Solid uses a solid color picked by the Solid Color control. Gradient applies a gradient across the circles using colors from the Gradient & Color Range control. Color Range assigns a random color from a specified range to each circle.
Solid Color
This picks the circle’s color when Color Style is set to Solid.
Gradient & Color Range
This sets the gradient or color range for the circles when Color Style is set to Gradient or Color Range.
Random Angle
This checkbox sets a random rotation angle for each diamond. The rotation point is at the center of each diamond.
End Angle
This slider sets the angle at the end of the animation pattern. The animation origin angle is 0° and each shape rotates a bit so that the shape’s rotation at the end of the pattern is the same as the End Angle slider value.
Roundness
This slider smooths the corners giving the diamonds a round look.
End Angle
This drop down sets the angle at the end of the animation pattern. The animation origin angle is 0° and each shape rotates a bit so that the shape’s rotation at the end of the pattern is the same as the End Angle value.
Rectangle Angle
Add this to Squares & Rect/Edge Spiral
This slider sets the rotation angle for each shape. The rotation point is at the center of each shape.
Drift
This dropdown selects which way the squares drift as they animate.
Tails
This dropdown selects how many tails the weave pattern has.
